Common types of industrial wastewater treatment chemicals
2.1. Polytetsu coagulant
Polytetsu is an Fe-based coagulant chemical with the chemical formula: [Fe2(OH)n(SO4)3-n/2]m. Its effect is as a coagulant, removing all suspended and insoluble impurities in wastewater and creating flocculation for these substances to settle, helping to achieve more effective wastewater treatment.
Besides, Polytetsu chemicals also have the ability to deodorize and treat sludge better than coagulants based on aluminum or some other metals. Therefore, Polytetsu wastewater treatment chemicals are the chemicals most used by many businesses today.
2.1.1. Uses of Polytetsu coagulant chemical
Polytetsu has many advantages in wastewater treatment, specifically:
- The ability to flocculate compounds, scale, and suspended impurities is better than other types of flocculation
- Fast flocculation speed
- Can be used at any pH
- Can reduce BOD and COD content in water
- Heavy metals can be removed
- Ability to deodorize ammonia and other odors
- Good decolorization
2.1.2. Polytetsu application
Polytetsu is widely used in domestic and industrial water treatment. Specifically, the following industries will be included:
- Water treatment station
- Domestic wastewater treatment
- Paper wastewater treatment
- Petrochemical
- Coal processing
- Food processing
- Automobile industryBottom of Form
2.2. Wastewater treatment chemicals POLYMER ANIONIC/ CATIONIC
Anionc/Cationic Polymer is a chemical that supports the flocculation process used in surface water treatment, industrial wastewater, urban wastewater and in sludge treatment.
2.2.1. Principle of flocculation process
- Colloidal particles in water will be broken down by low concentrations of polymer, this is the flocculation process.
- The broken colloidal particles will stick together to form small flocs, then form larger clusters and settle, called the flocculation process.
2.2.2. Symptoms and effects of Anionic/Cationic Polymer chemicals
- Mechanical digestion – inorganic sludge treatment to increase productivity and recover some solids in the sludge.
- Sedimentation ability – accelerates the settling process and improves flocculation in water
- Coagulation – aids sedimentation of inorganic molecules and coagulation of organic molecules as quickly as possible
With the application of Polymer, the sludge after treatment will become denser and smaller, and can be processed directly. Besides, using Polymer only slightly increases pH and salinity. From there, you can see the versatile and convenient nature of Polymer in wastewater treatment.
Using Anionic Polymer and Cationic Polymer will be determined by the area of water you want to treat. For example:
- Surface water: The best polymer is Anionic or has very little Cation, because in water there are many positive ions such as Fe, Mn…
- Industrial wastewater: To treat it, people often use anionic polymer combined with inorganic coagulants.
- Urban wastewater: Using inorganic flocculating polymer combined with anionic flocculant.
- Drying sludge after treatment: Sludge with inorganic properties requires Anionic flocculants, Cationic flocculants are suitable for treating organic sludge.
In addition, the amount of Polymer needed to treat water is very small, only parts per thousand. If too much Polymer is used, the water will become very viscous, hindering subsequent processing steps.
In particular, the excess amount of Polymer in water will increase COD. Therefore, when applying Polymer, it is necessary to carry out actual tests to choose the appropriate dosage
Note: To preserve Polymer wastewater treatment chemicals well, you should use materials such as stainless steel, fiberglass, and plastic to store chemicals.
2.3. Wastewater treatment chemicals Al2(SO4)3 – Alum
Aluminum alum, also known as alum, has the chemical formula AM(SO4)2, exists in crystalline form and is milky white. In which, A is a Cation and m is a III valent metal ion such as aluminum.
Ammonium alum has the chemical formula Al2(SO4)3. 14H2O, exists as white crystals, easily soluble in water. Mainly used to clarify water (mainly used in well water, wastewater treatment) or as a component of baking powder, used in electroplating,…
Potassium alum has the chemical formula KAl(SO4)2. 12H2O, exists in octahedral crystals, is transparent, colorless, slightly soluble in water, only when heated to 200 degrees Celsius can it decrystallize.
Domestic water demand will skyrocket in the coming years, requiring increased production and supply of chemicals. As well as applying technical advances in the production of chemicals that are more effective in water treatment than the traditional single and double alums that have been used for hundreds of years.
The first is aluminum sulfate produced from sulfuric acid and an aluminum-containing material such as clay, kaolin, bauxite ore, aluminum hydroxide.
2.3.1. Advantages of using aluminum alum
- High flocculation ability in toxic salts
- Easy to control when using
- Reasonable price, according to market price
- The dosage is small but provides clean water quality so it is used by many water supply plants.
- Less toxic, available on the market
2.4. Wastewater treatment chemicals NaOH – Caustic soda 99%
NaOH chemical is one of the chemicals used in many industries such as cleaning chemicals, water treatment chemicals, paper industry chemicals, packaging, oil refining technology, paint, single distilled water, distilled water. 2 times, medical distilled water, textile and dyeing technology, food, production of chemicals from caustic soda such as Sodium Silicate, Al(OH)3, PAC sedimentation aid, etc.
NaOH – Physical properties of NaOH chemical: Chinese NaOH 99 chemical – Caustic soda, also known as caustic soda, has many forms such as: NaOH 99 in colorless opaque flakes – caustic soda, granular NaOH – granular caustic soda, NaOH in granular form. 50% saturated solution
NaOH is a chemical that is easily soluble in water, alcohol and glycerin but insoluble in ether and other non-polar solvents.
99% wastewater treatment chemicals are one of the basic chemicals widely used in a number of light industries, chemical industries and some industries such as metallurgy, medicine and pharmacy, textile dyeing,…
To ensure that chemicals are not damaged, you need to store them in dry places, away from polluted and humid environments. In particular, avoid damage during transportation.
NaOH 99%, also known as caustic soda flakes
